A YORKE Peninsula health-support organisation has won an Australia-wide award for excellence. Non-profit community-transport service Care in Motion was given the 2024 Aged and Community Care Providers Association Excellence Award in the Rural and Remote category at a glittering ceremony last week to coincide with Aged Care Employee Day. CIM chief executive David McDonald said he was gobsmacked by the win, proud of his entire team, and deeply honoured to receive the award. “This remarkable achievement by Care in Motion continues to highlight the absolute dedication and exceptional contributions by our small team of staff and volunteers to the field of aged care and disadvantaged people in rural and remote areas,” Mr McDonald said. “This public acknowledgement is a testament to our team’s commitment to providing outstanding care and service.” Mr McDonald said CIM was all about keeping clients connected to essential services in the community. ACCPA chief executive Tom Symondson said aged-care workers often go above and beyond to ensure the people they serve receive excellent care. “These employees are the unsung heroes of our communities,” he said. “Their compassionate and tireless work ensures the wellbeing of older people, and their commitment is nothing short of extraordinary.” Care in Motion is a community-based organisation helping about 3000 transportdisadvantaged clients to destinations across Yorke Peninsula.
